How to properly clean the UTV windshield

Before cleaning the windshield, you need to know the material of your UTV windshield. Whether it is glass, acrylic glass or polycarbonate, each requires its own maintenance process. The glass is scratch resistant, so you can clean it in almost any way, although the best way is to always rinse with water and wipe it clean with a cloth. Acrylic, also known as Plexiglas and Lucite, has considerable scratch resistance, but is not as durable as glass. Polycarbonate is the strongest of these three materials, but it is easy to scratch, which is why users must know how to clean the windshield safely and effectively without compromising its quality.

Wash the windshield thoroughly, but do not pull out the sponge or rag for now. If all the dust in the dust is stained with a rag, it is easy to scratch the windshield. To minimize damage, use a hose to flush out any loose dirt.

Next, you need a cloth. We recommend using a new, soft, lint-free cloth, although the used cloth can be used as long as it is completely clean. Rinse clothes to ensure that no particles are visible in the water before use.

Create a mixture of mild dishwashing liquid and warm water or UTV special cleaning solution. Novus is a popular solution for UTV users and can be found on Amazon. If you have a polycarbonate shield, avoid using rough abrasives or chemicals that may cause damage. Instead, consider using lightweight detergents such as dishwashing liquid, shampoo, or hand sanitizer.

After rinsing, you must put a little elbow grease to remove the remaining dirt. Immerse the cloth in the cleaning solution and wash the inside and outside of the windshield and apply light pressure to reduce the risk of scratching. Do not use paper towels or Windex; paper towels are abrasive and Windex is a harsh solution that may scratch the surface.

Once all dirt has been removed, flush the windshield again to remove any remaining loose dirt. Use the recommended left and right movements to conduct spot checks on the places you think are appropriate. Let your windshield dry for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the humidity in your location.
